CORAL SPRINGS, FL

CPZ designed Broward County’s first LEED Certified fire station. The 12,500-square foot facility incorporated recycled materials and energy efficient equipment. The station is also equipped with a 36kW Uni-Solar FlexLite thin-film amorphous silicon solar photovoltaic system. The fire station interior design includes a commercial kitchen, dining room, entertainment room, gym, and outdoor space for ten firefighters and staff. A community room provides space for fire department sponsored public events. Technical aspects of the design include four bays sized to accommodate apparatus of multiple sizes, a decontamination room, cascade oxygen room, medical storage, and an emergency generator with automatic transfer switch.
