Kim’s goal is to always continue learning and with that comes the advice that you are never to old to learn. It is important to never assume that you know everything. Due to her background in a design field, Kim brings a unique understanding and perspective to her role as Business Development Manager. Kim’s background in landscape architecture brings a strong interest and extensive knowledge of architecture, design, urban design and planning. Kim has the ability to convey this information through writing and graphics in order to develop, produce and deliver technically responsive, organized, succinct and compelling qualification packages, proposals and presentations that win over clients.
Kim Zimmerman’s 30+ years of experience in Landscape Architecture in south Florida covered a broad range of expertise from small and large scale residential to large-scale multi-disciplinary commercial and governmental planned developments. Her experience encompassed Landscape Architecture, Irrigation Design, LEED Certified Projects, littoral landscape plans and supervised Mangrove trimming, Tree Inventories, Arboriculture, Environmental Issues, Irrigation, Site Planning, Grant Applications and Submittals, and SFEMD and FDOT permitting issues.
Kim has held the positions with three municipalities, first, as one of the Project Landscape Architects for the General Obligation Bond for the City of Fort Lauderdale and as a Planner, Landscape Designer and Landscape Inspector for the Town of Davie and as a Landscape Designer for the City of Boca Raton. Kim’s ultimate achievement was opening her own firms Landscape Architects Collaborative and Landscape Studio Design in 1998 until 2018. Her experiences included the design, neighborhood involvement and implementation of parks and streetscapes. She prepared cost estimates, specifications and bid packages, produced working drawings including irrigation plans and conducted field inspections. She worked with the Community and Civic Associations to define project objectives and goals on various projects.
