CPZ Architects Inc. and Vaughn, Wunsch & Masullo Architects are the designers of record of the first ever LEED accredited “Green” structure for the U.S. Federal Reserve Bank System. The project consists of the remodeling and addition of a highly secure remote screening lobby which uses the latest in security technology. The structure is not just functional, but will contain an exhibit area which will educate visitors on Green Practices used in this new building to achieve USGBC LEED certification. “Green” practices are extended to the exterior as well which includes Recycled Content Concrete, Hybrid and Low Emissions Vehicle Preferred Parking spaces and the use of native plantings which require zero irrigation. Change orders on this project equaled less than 5% of the overall project cost.
